Fed Tax Return REJECTED because spouse (me) "did not enter a valid ID PIN"
When I efiled our income tax return both of our 5-diget ID PINs were filled in, obviously from the prior year's income tax return prepared by TurboTax. The efiling was rejected due to the above-mentioned error. I logged into my account with the IRS and discovered I now have a 6-diget ID PIN. That surprised me because although I actually had tried to get a 6-diget ID PIN from the IRS several weeks ago, it looked like the process didn't work, so I abandoned the effort. Obviously the process DID work and now have a 6-diget ID PIN.
The problem here is that TurboTax WON'T ACCEPT THE 6-DIGET ID PIN, claiming I'm entering too many digits. The program simply won't accept a 6-diget ID PIN, which I find surprising.
So the question here is "how do I proceed?" Am I now doomed to filing by mail forever more, or is there some trick to getting TurboTax to accepting a VALID 6-diget ID PIN?
Thanks
