Why is my electronic filing being rejected because Turbotax tells me that my 1099R form New York State withholdings (Box 14) exceed the gross distribution (Box 1)?
How do I override an obvious glitch. Turbotax will not send my completed tax forms, because it
tells me "Please check this entry. Form 1099-R (Charles Schwab & Co., Inc.) Box 14a For electronic filing, New York State withholdings can not be greater or equal to gross distribution or state distribution."
This is false.
The gross distribution in box 1 is $61,396.12
The state tax withheld in box 14 (There is no letter "a") is $4234.72
Even if I change the amount in box 14 to only one dollar, the box still gets flagged.
How is this possible? Better still, what is the fix?
