Get your taxes done using TurboTax
For Schedule B Part 3, here’s how you can update 7a and 7b: Changing 7a to "Yes": If Form 8938 correctly reflects that you have foreign bank accounts, but Schedule B Part 3, Line 7a still says "No," you may need to manually adjust it. In TurboTax,
- Other Tax Situations section.
- Scroll down to Other Tax Forms.
- Go to Miscellaneous Tax Forms
- Select Prepare a report on foreign financial assets.
- Go through the questions again and ensure you indicate that you have foreign accounts reported. If the issue persists, some users have found that deleting and re-entering Schedule B can help.
Entering Countries for 7b: When listing foreign countries where your bank accounts exist, these are reported in the sections where you report each foreign account or asset. TurboTax will lead you through the process when you report your foreign assets and accounts.
