Desktop search requires sign in (?!?) and won't let me X out, have to shut the program down

Home & Business Desktop for Windows version. Running Windows 10.

When I click SEARCH near the upper right corner (with the magnifying glass) I get a popup:

 

Sign in - Use your Intuit Account to sign into TurboTax.

 

Problem is I don't want to sign in because I'm using DESKTOP not online. I'm just trying to Jump To a specific place in the program.

 

I cannot close the popup dialog by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner. It does nothing. The only way I can close it is to shut down the program. This has to be a bug.
