I am FED UP with the nasty arrogance of Intuit dictating what browser I am ALLOWED, what operating system I am ALLOWED--is there a link where Intuit will BUY A NEW COMPUTER for me? I am handicapped, on disability, I cannot run out and buy whatever they DICTATE. Several years ago I was running W98SE, one year it refused to load, demanding I upgrade to XP. I edited the registry and told it "presto you are now XP", and Turbotax installed and ran just fine. Can I do a similar stunt and lie to the operating system and get past the arrogant ERROR TRAP to RUN WHAT I PAID FOR?!?! I can't even afford the 2024 tax program, so I bought a 2023 verson. Oh nooOOOoo, "you must BUY A NEW MACHINE that runs 64 bit os". And (screw you) many of the programs I use WILL NOT RUN on a 64 bit system. If Intuit will buy a computer for me, I'll just use it for turbotax and use the 32-bit I like for everything else. Who do they think they are?
Suppose I borrow (or rent) a 64 bit system; can I install turbotax on a thumbdrive, then plug it into my 32 bit computer? If it's a total solid concrete wall, could some wealthy billionaire SUE intuit for me and force them to SERVE THE CUSTOMER? Business 101, "the customer is the boss". Not if the company demands "oh you have to have the latest whistles and bells". Also business 101 "the most useful for the most people" means if it works on a 32 bit system, IT WILL ALSO WORK ON A 64! Total compatibility means more money; what sense does it do to lock out customers? Just insane nasty arrogance. I didn't choose for the teenager to turn in front of me point blank (and I T-boned and flipped his pickup), didn't choose to have an artificial vertebra and hobble around on canes, didn't choose to be POOR. And I can't use the "online turbotax", never could get that to work.
I look forward to someone 'splainin' how to run 2023 on a 32 bit os, getting past the insane stupid arrogant error-trap-attitude, as I did when I ran XP-ONLY perfectly fine on W98SE.
