Yes, you can access your TurboTax return after filing using these steps:
Note that you are NOT actually changing your return - you are simply opening your return again so you have access to your entries.
- Log into TurboTax using the same username and password as you did before.
- Click on Tax Home from the menu on the left.
- Under Your tax returns & documents, select the current tax year, then click on Add a State.
- You now have access to your entire return. You may navigate using the tabs or Search box as you did while entering your information. Do NOT change anything, in case you do actually need to amend your return.
It would be helpful to have the exact wording of the SmartCheck message you received. A screenshot would also work. If you have already mailed your return, resolving this issue may not change what you sent to the IRS. In most cases, the missing information doesn't affect your taxable income.
