Get your taxes done using TurboTax
@ ThomasM125
I have more info on what's going on here.
The user "magd" has 2 threads on this issue. Here's the other that I answered last night:
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/rental-income/00/3616714
The user is using the desktop version on a Mac, and I use Windows and have observed the same over the years. On the 2024 Income Summary page, each topic has 2 columns of amounts--a column for last year's 2023 amount and a column for 2024. For the last few years on the topic "Income from 1099-MISC", the current year column (this year 2024) shows $0 even after entering 1099-MISC, but does display the historic prior-year amount in the first column.
It's been that way for several years, so I think it's normal. It doesn't appear to be due to any calculation problem and has never produced a problem for me. In Forms Mode the 1099-MISC appears to have been filled out correctly even though it shows $0 in that 2024 column, and in my circumstance, everything is also reported correctly on the Schedule E.
It seems that this must have been planned. When I click the blue "Learn more" link, the popup says:
"If you entered your 1099-MISC into TurboTax but don't see the numbers here, don't worry. We have to move certain 1099-MISC income to other topic groups, such as Business, to help prevent you from claiming this income twice."
And clicking on the $0 amount itself produces this popup:
"Income reported on 1099-MISC may flow to other areas, such as your business, and will be displayed there."
