If you itemize instead of taking the standard deduction, you can deduct gambling losses up to the amount of your winnings. After your winnings have been entered the interview will ask about losses.

You can also follow the instructions below to get to the section in TurboTax to enter your gambling winnings (and then your losses):

  • Log in to TurboTax Online
  • Click Take me to my return
  • Click on Federal Taxes
  • Click on Wages & Income
  • Locate Less Common Income, click Show More, if offered
  • Locate Gambling Winnings and click Start/Update
