Get your taxes done using TurboTax
You have two choices. You can file with everything on there and pay the extra and your return will go right thru processing because all of the numbers will match what is in the IRS files. Then you file an amended return after the corrected 1099-SSA arrives so that you can get a refund of the extra that you paid.
Or you can file the return with the correct amount in the social security boxes the way it should have been on the 1099-SSA. That may cause your return to be held for review but will be cleared up as soon as the corrected 1099-SSA shows up. Although if you may have to send a copy of the corrected form in if you receive a letter from the IRS.
Neither of those is a particularly great option but there they are. Sorry for your loss.
