I am looking for some help filing our 2024 taxes.
Here's our situation - My wife & I got married in April 2024. Throughout 2024, I was a MI state resident and worked in MI. My wife lived in Ohio till March and moved to Michigan with me post-wedding. She worked a job in Ohio for the entire year (commuted across border after moving).Her Ohio employer withheld only Ohio state taxes from payroll for 2024.
Ideally we want to file Married Filing Jointly for Federal. I learned both MI and OH require the state tax filing to match federal filing status.
Can someone help me with how I can properly file the state taxes with correct residency status?
