I am doing consulting work through a consulting company. I do not own the consulting company. I get paid and get a 1099 NEC tax form. I get to choose when I work and what studies I will work on. Do I get a Qualified Business Income Deduction. Turbo tax said I do not qualify. Why would I not get QBI Would QBI deduction reduce consulting income by 20% that I have to pay taxes on ??
