My parents had me on their taxes as a dependent. They just amended their taxes like a day ago, to remove me from their 2024 return. I am trying to electronically submit my tax documents (I have a refund coming from both federal and state) but it is getting rejected (Reject Code F1040-516-01)... saying that my ss# is tied to another tax return. How long does it take for the IRS system to amend their form so that I can submit electronically and get my $? Or, should I mail it in? Help.
