Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Sharing these info on what I found out and have done.

Refer to below post which explains even though I am CA full-time NR.. but the CA FTB tax forms treats as though you are full-time resident and then apply a ratio for non-residents in their C 540 tax forms.

In my 2023 returns, turbotax has this 2023 CA capital loss carryover worksheet. There are 2 parts

[I] Capital Loss Carryover Worksheet

[II]  Capital Loss Caryyover Worksheet for Nonresidents and Part-Year Resident

For 2024 turbotax returns,  it will state 2023 federal capital loss carryover and then ask you to "enter CA capital loss carryover". Use the part I amounts. Later, Turbotax will specifically ask for the carryover as a non-resident part II amounts.
