For U.S. citizens or residents living abroad, you generally need to file income tax returns similarly to those residing in the U.S.
- Your income, filing status, and age generally determine whether you must file a return.
- Usually, you must file a return if your gross income from worldwide sources is at least the amount shown for your filing status in the filing requirements table in chapter 1 of Publication 54, Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad.
To enter a foreign address, see below:
- Sign in to TurboTax
- In the About me - My Info section of the online program, edit your address.
- Where it shows US Address in the box Type of mailing address, click on the dropdown and select Foreign country
