There is not requirement to mail your return on top of e-filing. Did you actually transmit your return by pressing the orange button? If you did, wait to see if your return is accepted.
If you have not e-filed your return, go through the review check one more time. You can also try logging out of the program and logging back in. You can also clear your cache and cookies.

Also, make sure that all updates have been run for your TurboTax program. Click here for information on manually updating TurboTax
There are some individual state and local forms that aren't supported for e-filing and have to be mailed. Maybe that was what the message was about. You can check the TurboTax Forms Availability Tool for the complete list. If a form shows as "Unsupported" in the "Ready for e-file" column, that particular form would need to be mailed.
