Get your taxes done using TurboTax
If you are receiving a pension from the Office of Personal Management, which is considered a qualified plan, you don't have to calculate RMD, because all of it is considered RMD.
Military retirement and annuities from insurance companies are non-qualified plans, and an RMD is not required. There was an issue in TurboTax Online in which non-qualified plans were treated as though they were qualified plans, and requiring an RMD.
However, that issue has now been fixed with the latest update, and you can indicate that you have a distribution from a non-qualified plan.
