Yes, you would report this income as W2 income if you were an employee.
- Go to income or wages and income.
- Go to Miscellaneous Income
- Other income not reported on a W-2 or 1099
- First screen will be a yes answer
- Continue through the next three screens and then say yes to the Question did you earn any other wages
- Enter any other earned income. Say yes.
- Enter source of other earned income, say other
- Now describe this as Au Pair Stipend income and make separate entries for both you and your wife, by splitting the stipend income in 1/2. See screenshot provided below. i am using $30,000 to illustrate this.
