"For eligible clean vehicles placed in service on or after January 1, 2024, you must submit all reports through IRS Energy Credits Online within 3 calendar days of the date of sale"
The dealer will need to register and complete the report using the IRS Energy Credit tool. Click on the following link for additional information

If the report wasn't done on time, even if they go now and file the report online you might not be able to submit your taxes online. You might have to file on paper. The dealer is still responsible to file the report and giving you a copy. The IRS might also request a copy if no information appears on their system.
