Medi-Cal medical coverage is reported on a 1095-B form per the California Department of Health Services.
You would need to report this in the California state interview screens.
When you start preparing your California return, you will see a screen asking if you all have health insurance coverage in 2024. Select the appropriate box depending upon the applicable situation. If only your dependent had medical coverage with Medi-Cal, you would select I'll pick who had it and which months. If your entire family had medical coverage, select We all had health insurance coverage all year.
On the next screen asking if anyone was enrolled in a less common plan, select no. This would only apply if anybody listed on the tax return was covered under a Marketplace plan and received a Form 1095-A.
