Ineligible for e-filing due to $0 amount in W2 Box 1
Hi, I am getting an getting a message that my return is ineligible for e-filing due to reason
"One of your W-2s doesn't have an amount in box 1 or the amount is less than $1. If there is an extra W-2 added to the return my mistake, delete the extra form. Otherwise, the return must be filed by mail."
For context, I live in NJ but work in NY, so I received two W-2 forms from my company this year. One of the W-2s lists NJ as the state and contains my total income in box 1. The other W-2 lists NY as the state but has an empty box 1.
Was there a mistake with the W-2 forms my employer sent me? Did I enter in the W-2 forms wrong somehow? Or do I really have to file by mail this year?
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
