Your income from Door Dash on the 1099-NEC is considered self-employment income and will be reported on Schedule C (as a business) of your tax return. Additionally, you will generally be able to deduct your mileage and other business expenses.

Here are the steps also:
If you received a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC for your self-employed income
- Open or continue your return - be sure you are signed in for link in Step 2 to work.
- Navigate to the self-employed income section:
- TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to self-employed income - or go to magnifying glass(search) and type "self employed income" and use the jump link
- TurboTax Desktop: Search for self employed income (use this exact phrase, don't add a hyphen) and select the Jump to link.
- Answer Yes on the Did you have any self-employment income or expenses? screen.
- If you land on the Your 2024 self-employed work summary page, select Review next to the work you're adding income for.
- Answer the questions on the following screens until you arrive at Let's enter the income for your work.
- Select the form that applies to your situation and select Continue.
- You can enter the info from your 1099 form on the following screens.
