I have not encountered any post-filing messages such as you described, besides reject notices, or directions to send other specific documents such as payment vouchers. It would be helpful to have a screenshot of what you saw.
There are some individual state and local forms that aren't supported for e-filing and have to be mailed. You can check the TurboTax Forms Availability Tool for the complete list. If a form shows as "Unsupported" in the "Ready for e-file" column, that particular form would need to be mailed.
