Get your taxes done using TurboTax
VolvoGirl -- thank you for your response.
What I think you're saying is that customers never needed the CDs we purchased in the past -- we could/should have just gone online and downloaded the desktop version all along. I guess TurboTax just provided them for the comfort physical CDs bring. Like another poster, I always have a way to use CDs, no matter what new version of computer I purchase. I see, however, that my past returns are in my online TurboTax account, even though I always bought and used CDs and never imported data from past returns. I think the CDs helped me because once I inserted the CD and the license code was input, I never needed to actually complete the extra step of going back to log into my online TurboTax account; I could just use the CD whenever. Now, I think the CDs actually automatically linked my computer with each year's program. Is my assumption correct? I only had to log into my account if I wanted to eFile or pay for the state return. Otherwise, in the past I was always able to download, print and mail returns without having to pay TurboTax again (other than for the original CD) and without having to log onto TurboTax. Guess those days are gone.
I appreciate your letting me know where on the site the link about buying the install CD is located. Thanks again for reading and understanding my post! You helped me.
