South Carolina generally requires married filers to use the same filing status on their South Carolina return as they do on their federal return. Since you're filing jointly for federal, you'd be required to file jointly for state. However, you'd file a part-year or nonresident return. Your wife would report her income on the South Carolina return and you would indicate that none of your income is taxable in South Carolina.
