First of all I’m going to start by saying has anybody tried doing a search for a refund guarantee? Those little blue dots just spin in circles for eternity. I am curious to know why free tax USA comes up with better Federal refunds and less owed NYS. I discovered this through my sister who ran numbers through a few different tax preparers. So I tried it short enough free tax USA gave me $222 better refund on federal and $110 less owed on NYS. same paperwork used, since I retired my taxes are quite simple a few 1099’s nothing technical not even anything to worry about being audited. I’ve been using TurboTax for four years since I retired because it has been much easier and I could do it myself, but next year free tax USA, Federal is a free and state return is $15. And for some reason better results. I was going to inquire about the refund guarantee but something tells me it’s just not worth it.
