Get your taxes done using TurboTax
It's always a little embarrassing to own up to your mistakes, but for the benefit of any others that might have read my previous comments concerning the "linked amount," this, unfortunately, occurred when I entered "the total proceeds for items sold at a loss or no gain" for the 1099-K entries in TT using a quick & erroneous calculation from my spreadsheet. That caused TT to generate a number for total proceeds that didn't match the total proceeds determined by the 271 eBay transactions that I entered under "investment income" in the fifth income step in TT. When I finally realized my mistake, it was a fairly easy matter to subtract the box F proceeds on the 1099-B worksheet from the box 1 amount on my 1099-K and correct the entry for "items sold at a loss or no gain," thus reconciling my 1099-K. My apologies for any confusion.
