You should discuss this with the dealer. ‌If you transferred the credit to the dealer at the time of sale (for example to reduce the vehicle cost), you will not be able to take the $7,500 tax credit.

 

If you are unsure whether your credit was transferred to the dealer, you should call the dealership and ask if the credit was transferred to them. You can also review your purchase paperwork to determine if the credit was transferred to the dealer.
