Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Pennsylvania and Ohio have a reciprocal agreement.
This means if you live in one state and work in the other, you only pay tax to the state in which you live.
However, since you moved to Pennsylvania, you will be considered a PA resident.
If you and your spouse file a joint Federal return, you must file a joint Ohio return, in which case all the income will be claimed on the Ohio return and a credit for the double tax will be on the Ohio return.
If you file Separately for federal, you could file separate state returns for both Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The employer will withhold PA state tax.
If filing jointly, you will file a PA return first, then an OH return.
TurboTax needs to know the tax owed PA before it can calculate the credit to put on the OH return.
