Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Yes, Ohio has state tax and you may also have city or school district tax.

  • You own a home in Ohio and that is where you intend to return to your spouse, so it is your resident state and requires income be taxed for local services, roads, police, etc. You have established state residency.
  • You are domiciled in PA and have PA source income so you must file a PA return and pay tax on the PA income.
  • OH does give you a credit for the double taxed income. The credit will be the lower of the state tax liabilities on the same taxable income. You may owe your resident state,  if they have a higher tax rate along with differences in how the taxable income is calculated.
