I finished my taxes on the 18-th. After some checking everything, I went to submit my
returns this afternoon. That was 2 hours and 40 minutes ago. But TurboTax added
a new form 5329 that was totally erroneous and showed a fine for failing to take my
RMD, which was completely incorrect. The saved return from the 18-th included my
1099-R. I spent well over an hour doing chats. The promised phone call never arrived.
By guess and by golly I managed to eliminate the offending 5329 after several attempts.
This took about 30 minutes.
As in previous years, I asked to have my rebate direct deposited. Only after did I discover
that TurboTax now charges $40 for direct deposit. Congratulations, you bilked me out
of the $40. If I remember this experience next year, I'll try one of your competitors.
