Wait until the IRS processes the form you have already filed. They may stop it and correct it. Once the IRS has finished and you have a refund or corrected return, then you can file an amended return, if you still need to do so.
The federal is working on changing amended returns and this also affects many states when a new law was passed in Dec. Please check forms availability here once you are ready to file an amended return. You may need to amend any state returns as well. See I need to amend my state return.
