If you are positive you did not claim it in 2020, then this would be your 4th year. The IRS computer is very fast to catch that mistake and send you an audit letter.
If you do qualify, follow these steps:
- go back to your education summary
- edit the education information.
- select yes to Working on a Degree,
- continue
- enrollment status, select
- continue
- Fours years of credit, select No, continue
- select No to first year
- continue
- select yes to Receive American credit
- enter the number of years claimed 3
- continue
- felony, select, continue
- continue, continue, maximize
