Not on the 1095-A, but my dependents are. Why am I being deducted on my taxes?
My children's father had Marketplace insurance for a portion of 2024 with my children included. He is the policy holder, I am not on the policy. I am claiming my children as dependents on my taxes. I cannot file without the 1095-A form, as it will not allow it. When entering in the 1095-A form (from the children's father), it states I owe for that policy. Shouldn't he be the one paying this, since I am not on the policy and did not pay? Or is it because I am claiming them on my taxes, that it flags for me to enter in the 1095-A?
Please help, as the agent I spoke with told me it should not affect anything and another told me they did not know.
Thanks!
