Get your taxes done using TurboTax
For what it's worth, I used TaxAct for Estates and Trusts (online) last year (2023) and am using it for the final 1041 return this year (2024). For 1040 returns, I've been using TurboTax since it was MacInTax 30-some-odd years ago.
TaxAct isn't nearly as polished as TurboTax, but it does the job. You don't pay until you file (or download a PDF to print), so until then the only thing you can see that looks like the return is the Form 1041 itself. There are some summary pages shown as you work through the return.
I will say that it's helpful to have a resource such as this Intuit forum for very good answers to tax questions. There's program help (as opposed to tax help) when using TaxAct, too, but it's just different than when using the TurboTax product. I've not used tax help from TaxAct.
