No, your father can't claim you as a dependent because your income was greater than $5,050 and you weren't a full-time student 24 or under.  

 

You would have to meet all of the requirements below for your father to claim you as a dependent:

 

To determine if ‌you are a qualifying child, the following questions must be true:

 

  • You must be related to the person claiming you,
  • You can’t be claimed as a dependent by anyone else. 
  • You must be a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident. 
  • If You are married, you can’t file a joint return with your spouse. 
  • You must be under the age of 19 (or 24 for full-time students). 
    • No age limit for permanently and totally disabled children. 
  • You must have lived with your father for more than half the year (exceptions apply). 
  • You didn't provide more than half of your own support for the year. 

 

 

If you don't qualify as a qualifying child, you may be a qualifying relative. The following questions must be true:

 

  • You can’t be claimed as a dependent by someone else. 
  • You must be a U.S. citizen, resident alien, national, or a Canadian or Mexican resident. 
  • If You are married, you can’t file a joint return with your spouse.
  • You must live with your father all year.
  • You can’t have made more than $5,050 in income in 2024.
  • Your father must provide more than half of your total support for the year.

Are you planning on filing a tax return for 2024?  If your total income is under the filing requirement, you don't have to file a tax return.  The federal filing requirement depends on your filing status, your age, and your income.
