There are a few possible reasons.
- You may have worked the last few weeks of 2023, and the pay period carried over into 2024.
- As SteanTrain said "Sometimes there are certain other funds that get paid out in the next year."
- Check to see if it was included on you 2023 tax return.
- It is a corrected 2023 W-2. This will be listed as a W-2 G and it looks very different from your regular W-2.
