Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Users have reported being able to enter just a bit of personal info in TTO, import their financial data, then transfer into a TTD return, although I have not personally tried this. If the transfer were to over-write anything, it might be only your name and address. Obviously, save a copy of the current TTD file before attempting this.
The net out is, that since the Import function works for the majority of users, it is not a programming error. The actuality is that the IRS does not need all of your financial transactions individually entered into your tax return. Did you have a Gain/Loss and was is ST or LT? They have a copy of all your 1099's, so they can contact you if they need to on any individual transaction.
Total your 1099-Div's'/Int's from the same institution and make one entry in TurboTax for these. Using the Summary Method to report 1099-B transactions does not mean you'll need to mail anything; it depends on what type of transactions you have.
As far as the 'new computer, new account' suggestion, that has worked for some having issues with TurboTax, as they re-installed/used TurboTax in the new account. Sometimes all we have are 'workarounds' for some folks having issues, where others are not.
