Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I'm getting confused. Even though I'm using the free version, I still have the 'Download .tax file' option, and when I click it, the file is downloaded. Could the issue be that I haven't received full authorization because I'm using the free version? Should I purchase the $80 version to resolve this?
