About the state refund increasing after you removed the 1099-G. Did you see the FAMLI leave tax subtraction option when you were on the Colorado state tax pages? It's near the bottom of the first page of options pertaining to tax subtractions. You have to press "start" and then enter the amount in box 1 of your 1099-G. That way this income is excluded from being taxed on your state refund.
