Get your taxes done using TurboTax

It depends on the age of your computer. If it is an older model, you may be saving the file in such a way that’s not compatible with your current system, especially if the file has become corrupted or if there's a conflict with macOS file handling.

Try one or all these solutions to see if they work.

  1. Try saving the file in a different location on your Mac (e.g., Desktop) instead of a cloud-based drive like iCloud or Dropbox, which might cause syncing issues.
  2. Make sure you save the file without a password first, and once it’s saved successfully, try adding the password separately in a second step.
  3. If the issue persists, check whether TurboTax permissions are set correctly. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy and ensure TurboTax has the necessary permissions to access files and folders.
