Can I claim my mom as a dependent if she gets SSI?
My mom is disabled (I'm her designated driver), is 65yrs old, and receives only SSI here in the state of Florida. She's been living with me since August 2024 when I brought her in to live with me in my rented apartment after her last stroke. I do have a 9 to 5 job. Other than the SSI, she receives no other income of any kind and there are no properties or the like that we own. Can I claim her as a dependent on my taxes for this year?
