Get your taxes done using TurboTax
I think you're saying that you shouldn't qualify for the credit, but the program isn't accepting that. If that's the case, try closing TurboTax Online, then clear your browser's cache and delete your cookies. See the TurboTax Help articles How to clear your cache and How do I delete cookies? for guidance.
Then, close the browser and re-open it. Open TurboTax Online again and pick up where you left off.
If, on the other hand, you think you should qualify but TurboTax isn't allowing the credit, it's important to understand that Oklahoma's new Caring for Caregivers Tax Credit is a non-refundable credit. That means that it can only be used to the extent that it offsets any tax that you might otherwise owe.
So, if you don't owe any Oklahoma state tax, or if that tax has been offset by other state credits, you won't get this credit, simply because it isn't needed.
See General Information about the credit on Form 592, Caring for Caregivers Tax Credit. See the TurboTax article What Is the Difference Between a Refundable and a Nonrefundable Credit? for information about non-refundable credits.
