Wife has SSA-1099 and I earn over the taxable threshold
Married filing jointly for years. My wife became disabled and is earned a SSA-1099 this year after a few monthly payments. I earn over $32k/yr which is the threshold for married filing jointly for the SSA funds to be taxed. When entering my federal wages and information into Turbo Tax for this year's return, it is not showing that we owe. I'm concerned this is going to cause a significant liability later. Thoughts on why if my W-2 and her SSA-1099 are entered, it wouldn't be changing my refund total from when it was just my W-2? To be clear I entered my W-2 saw my estimated refund, and then when I entered the SSA-1099, my estimated refund increased instead of decreased, which seems wrong.
