When asked about calculating the Total value of my HSA, Turbotax is asking for two inputs to add:
Your HSA balance on December 31, 2023 $XXX
Any contributions made from January 2023 to April 15, 2024 $???
Total HSA Value $???
Which option would I chose to enter the total value?
- For the second input, “Any contributions made from January 2024 to April 15, 2024”, do I add both what I contributed as well as what my employer contributed to my HSA?
- Or, For the second input, “Any contributions made from January 2024 to April 15, 2024”, do I just enter the amount I personally contributed?
- Or, is the total value of my HSA just the number on form 5498-SA, box 5, and therefore enter $0 for “Any contributions made from January 2024 to April 15, 2024”?
Please help me with this question.
