Get your taxes done using TurboTax
A child's income from working is never added to a parent's return, the child must file separately. This usually does not affect whether or not they can be claimed as a dependent.
The only time a child's income can be added to a parent's tax return is if the income is only interest or dividends less than $13,000. If the child has income from any other source, then all their income is reported on a return in their own name.
