Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Are you sure you entered your data correctly?  I'm not familiar with TT input system.  I just took a quick look under PERSONAL --> DEDUCTIONS & CREDITS --> ESTIMATES AND OTHER TAXES PAID --> FOREIGN TAXES (I have the Home and Business version),  TT asked, "Have you already reported all of your foreign income and, if applicable, foreign taxes paid on interest, dividends or Schedules K-1?"  I would think in your situation, the answer should be "No" since you said none of your foreign income and taxes paid were reported on those IRS 1099-INT, 1099-DIV or K-1 forms.  But as I said, I don't know about TT to answer your questions.

To make sure TT doesn't skip the 1116, you must tell TT some or all of your foreign taxes paid were not reported to the IRS by the payee.  I have yet to see the IRS challenging a taxpayer for skipping the 1116 as the threshold is only $300.  This is also why it's important to review the tax return before filing.

Hopefully, if you provide how you input your information, someone knowledgeable could answer your questions.  Good luck.
