Where are you importing from? A TXF file would be generated by either accounting software or brokers that don't partner with Turbotax. If a broker partners with Turbotax there is no TXF file. It's a direct transfer from the broker into Turbotax. Thru the step file > import>from financial institution. The FI will not have the electronic transfer file ready until towards the end of January or later in 2025.
as to why you're having issues with aTXF, perhaps the data is inconsistent or incomplete. you can actually open the file with MS Word or Wordpad. There is probably a similar app for MACs
I tried and import from Quicken and did not have the issue you're experiencing
