We have always ordered TurboTax on a CD and saved the disks for 10 years of tax returns. If we were audited for any particular year, we could reload that year and look at what is required. We now have to download for tax year 2024 since CDs no longer seem to be available.
If we save yearly download versions on our computer, we would lose those files if we replace our computer. I have the following questions:
1. What do you recommend for keeping download versions for future access?
2. If we needed an older download version that we no longer have, can we get it from TurboTax without paying a fee?
3. Is there a way to burn a download version to a CD that is fully executable?
