When I verified my identity I informed the IRS that my bank account had closed so I would like a paper check. Now that my tax return is being processed again, I received another letter asking me to verify my identity. Why do I need to do this again? Is it because I changed from DD to paper check? Has anyone had to verify themselves multiple times for one return?
I’ve never had to verify before this year so I’m a little confused and nervous about this whole process.
