I just want to amplify the last sentence of VolvoGirl's post. "It is too late to get a refund from the IRS."
It's not clear why your friend wants to file an amended return, or what she hopes to accomplish by doing so. But if she is hoping to get an additional refund, she is out of luck. It's too late to get a refund for 2019. An amended return for 2019 had to be filed by July 15, 2023, in order to get a refund. So struggling to get TurboTax to prepare the amended return may just be a waste of effort.
